Fishing at Lough Inagh

Inagh provides an abundance of wild, hard fighting salmon and sea trout, sparkling clear water, heathery banks, crisp clean air and spectacular scenery. The Fishery comprises two outstanding loughs, Inagh and Derryclare and a tumbling river which is located at the top of the Ballynahinch system in the heart of Connemara.

Spring Salmon Fishing commences in March and peaks during the month of May with average weights of around 5 kg and the occasional fish up to 9 kg. Grilse, which reach the lakes in early June, are caught from boats and from the river bank until the season closes at the end of September. Sea trout constitute the great part of the summer activity right up to close of the season in September.

The seven beats of Lough Inagh and Derryclare Fishery include Lough Inagh, 7 km long and 1 km wide with a number of wooded islands and Corloo, a favourite location, is an outflow from Lough Inagh with excellent sea trout fishing from the bank and a perfect salmon lie in high water.
