Day 1: Dublin Tour & the Book of Kells
Welcome! On arrival in Dublin you can check into your hotel, then the adventuring starts at 2pm, when all participants meet in the hotel lobby for a guided tour of Dublin. Driving down the mains streets you can take in some of Dublin’s most famous sights like Trinity College, the Spire and the GPO. Later, take a guided walking tour of Trinity College's Campus and view the famous manuscript the Book of Kells. Come evening, you can relax at your hotel and enjoy a drink with your tour guide and other guests.
Day 2: Irish National Stud & Kilkenny
Leaving the Capital you come to County Kildare, where your first stop is the National Stud a haven for plant and animal life. Enjoy a walk around the grounds to see St. Fiachra's Garden and of course the miniature Japanese Gardens! Next up is County Kilkenny where you can enjoy a small lunch and take a stroll around Kilkenny's medieval town. Continuing south you reach the Knockmealdown Mountains and passing through a gap between them, you'll soon reach your next hotel in Ballycotton. Located on the South coast, this quiet countryside house overlooks the ocean and is a beautifully relaxing place. Come evening, you can enjoy a luxury dinner at the hotel’s restaurant!
Day 3: Kinsale Walking Tour & West Cork Coastline
Departing your hotel after breakfast, its onwards to County cork, passing through east Cork's beautiful countryside at first, before reaching the town of Kinsale in the south. A local guide will give you a walking tour of the town and of Charles Fort. This pretty old fishing village is famous for its gourmet food and excellent sailing locations. Continuing along Corks rough coastline, make sure to take in as much of the scenery as you can! Reaching Killarney, you can check into your hotel, which is set in the town centre. You have some free time before dinner, we advise using this time to explore some of Killarney's many shops or its National Park!
Day 4: Ring of Kerry & Killeen House Restaurant
Today you take the beautiful 100-mile drive that is the Ring of Kerry, with incredible views of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks and other coastal scenery. Along the way there will be plenty of stops for photos and fresh air. Passing through the village of Cahirciveen, you head across the bridge to Valentia Island, where the Skellig Experience is located. These small Islands were once the home of early Christian monks and more recently a filming location for the seventh Star Wars movie! After having lunch in a nearby restaurant, it’s onwards to Sneem, a pretty village with brightly coloured houses, where you can take some photos and a stroll around. Next you stop at Moll's Gap, where you can get incredible views of Ireland’s highest mountains, before heading back to Killarney to the Killeen House Restaurant for a delicious dinner.
Day 5: Cliffs of Moher & Dromoland Castle
Leaving Killarney, it’s north to Tarbert, where you'll take a 20 minute ferry ride across the Shannon Estuary to County Clare. Driving along the coast, you'll reach the Cliffs of Moher, a daunting sight, rising nearly 700 feet above the Atlantic. Take a walk along the Cliffs to O’Brien’s tower, where you can see the Aran Islands, on a clear day. Moving on, you pass through the fascinating Burren region, a land stripped of its topsoil, leaving a rugged rocky landscape behind. Finally you reach the Dromoland Castle Hotel, the definition of luxury, you can enjoy its beautiful gardens, its golf course or spa for a while before fine dining in its Restaurant!
Day 6: Gaelic Ireland & Ashford Castle
You head North today to Galway City, where you can see Eyre Square, the Spanish Arch and Galway Cathedral! Leaving the City, you drive to Spiddal where you can visit Cnoc Suain, a restored 17th Century hill-village, set bin a stunni9ng location where you can really feel the Irish culture. Next you have a short cruise on lough Corrib as you approach the magnificent Ashford Castle from the water, make sure to take pictures of the incredible surroundings, before checking in and having dinner!
Day 7: Connemara & Kylemore Abbey
Today you discover the beautiful Connemara region, admire its stunning lakes and mountains, see the bogs used for turf to heat Irish homes for generations. Next you drive to Kylemore Abbey, where you can explore the beautiful rooms and furnishings of the mansion, as well as the church that are set beside a picturesque lake. Have a small lunch and enjoy views of Connemara before heading back to Ashford Castle in the afternoon, so you have to time to really make the most of your stay in this incredible hotel! Come evening, dine in one of the Hotels other restaurants!
Day 8: Kilbeggan Distillery & Fine Dining
Departing from Ashford Castle, you head towards Kilbeggan for the Kilbeggan Distillery Experience, established in 1757; it is the oldest operating distillery in the world! Enjoy the architecture of the old buildings and the intrigue of the modern whiskey making equipment. After browsing, try a sample of the famous product, before continuing your journey on to Dublin. After checking into your new hotel in Dublin, you have some free time before heading to one of the Capital finest restaurants for Dinner!
Day 9: Russborough House & Dublin
Leaving Dublin this morning, you head south to the Wicklow Mountains, where you can take a tour of Russborough House, a beautiful Mansion known for its expansive collection of art and photography. The well-kept nature of the location means the tours are quite immersive! Returning to Dublin in the afternoon, you can redeem your open-top bus tour of the City voucher as well as entrance to the General Post Office or the Guinness Brewery!
Day 10: Departure from Dublin
After breakfast, it's goodbye for now!
