Day 1: Dublin Tour & the Book of Kells
Welcome! On arrival in Dublin you can check into your hotel, then the adventuring starts at 2pm, when all participants meet in the hotel lobby for a guided tour of Dublin. Driving down the mains streets you can take in some of Dublin’s most famous sights like Trinity College, the Spire and the GPO. Later, take a guided walking tour of Trinity College's Campus and view the famous manuscript the Book of Kells. Come evening, you can relax at your hotel and enjoy a drink with your tour guide and other guests.
Day 2: Clonmacnoise Monastic Site & Galway City Tour
Leaving the Capital, you head through the Irish midland countryside to Clonmacnoise. Set up in 545AD, on the banks of the Shannon river, a lot of the architecture including High crosses, round towers and church still stand to this day, albeit in slightly worse condition! its onwards to Galway City, where a local guide will give you a walking tour of Irelands cultural capital. After this you have a while to browse the city on your own before heading back to your hotel.
Day 3: Connemara Catamaran Cruise & Kylemore Abbey
Today you discover the beautiful Connemara region, admire its stunning lakes and mountains, see the bogs used for turf to heat Irish homes for generations. After admiring the scenery its on through the Inagh Valley to Leenane, a small village from which you take a Catamaran cruise around killary Harbour. Next you drive to Kylemore Abbey, where you can explore the beautiful rooms and furnishings of the mansion, as well as the church that are set beside a picturesque lake. Have a small lunch and enjoy views of connemara before heading back to Galway, where you have the evening free to explore the city.
Day 4: Cliffs, Sheepdogs & Traditional Irish Night
Leaving Galway, you head south through the Burren region, an area stripped of topsoil, with a lunar resemblance. Travel to the village of Caherconnell where you can watch trained sheepdogs obey commands and herd sheep. Next stop is at the famous Cliffs of Moher, standing 700ft tall above the sea, these daunting giants are a truly memorable sight. Leaving the cliffs, you continue south to the Shannon Estuary, which you will get a ferry across before driving to Killarney. See the incredible Killarney National Park on a traditional Jaunting Car ride, visit Ross Castle and Lough Leane and take in the natural beauty of the area. Heading back to the town, you check into your hotel then it’s off to a cosy pub for a traditional Irish night of food and entertainment!
Day 5: Ring of Kerry & Muckross House
Today you take the beautiful 100-mile drive that is the Ring of Kerry, with incredible views of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks and other coastal scenery. Along the way there will be plenty of stops for photos and fresh air. Passing through the village of Cahirciveen, you head across the bridge to Valentia Island, where the Skellig Experience is located. These small Islands were once the home of early Christian monks and more recently a filming location for the seventh Star Wars movie! After having lunch in a nearby restaurant, it’s onwards to Sneem, a pretty village with brightly coloured houses, where you can take some photos and a stroll around. Next you stop at Moll's Gap, where you can get incredible views of Ireland’s highest mountains, before heading to Muckross House for a guided tour of this mid-19th Century mansion, learn about its history and see its antique furnishings. Make sure to also admire the incredible gardens before returning to killarney where you have the evening free to dine independently, we highly advise checking out some of Killarneys many traditional Irish pubs as well!
Day 6: Blarney Castle & Traditional Music Session
Departing Killarney, you head to Blarney Castle where you can kiss the famous Blarney stone and visit the woollen mills, which sell quality Irish-made goods. Travel along the coast to the Dungarvan, where you'll visit the Marine Bar for Irish coffee and Traditional Irish music. Next up is the House of Waterford Crystal, where you can learn about how the beautiful glass masterpieces were created. Make sure to also visit their excellent gift shop, where you can buy some of the famous glassware!
Day 7: Waterford walk & O'Connell's Restaurant
This morning a local guide will give you a walking tour of Waterford town, informing you of its interesting history and people. You can visit the nearby Medieval Museum, a modern building made up partly of a 13th century Chorister's Hall and the 15th Century Mayors wine vault. Heading North to Kilkenny now, you'll stop in the city for lunch and a look around, before continuing on to your hotel in Dublin. After checking in, it's off to O'Connell's Restaurant for Dinner.
Day 8: Departure from Dublin
After Breakfast, it's goodbye for now!
