With a strong stretch of beaches and recordings of some of countrys highest temperatures, the quiet town of Courtown attracts people from all over Ireland and beyond and is a well known summer resort for Dubliners. It has two main beaches to note on a visit. The main one is the north beach of the outskirts of town which draws in the crowds and whose many side walks leading into woodland areas provide alternative attractions. The smaller less used beach is the south beach which although not recommended for swimmers is close to the village and ideal for visitors to avail of the villages amenities while taking in the sea air and wading in the surf.
As well as its stretches of sandy beaches, the surrounding countryside of Courtown offers visitors a number of walks and activities for people of all ages. It has a number of golf courses and driving ranges in the immediate surroundings and further afield. Its coastal location allows for a number of watersports and activities and its countryside allows for woodland walks and treks.
