Coffey's Pastry Case offers such comfort in a cozy but spacious two-story nook serving coffees of every imaginable flavour and homemade pastries, breads, cakes, and pies. Their mouth-watering scones-served warm with creamery butter, whipped cream, and raspberry marmalade-add to an incredible menu of homemade delicacies. Heartier fare, also available, comes in the form of fresh-baked quiche, grilled sandwiches, creamy soups, and crisp salads.

On the ground floor are racks of baked goods and a dozen tables, while upstairs another dozen tables surrounded by windows make the view of the Shannon an utter delight. Charming decor includes many old black and white photographs of Carrick-on-Shannon in the early 1900s and an inviting seating area around a working fireplace.

With a full take away menu, birthday cakes (on 24 hour notice), and wireless broadband internet access, Coffey's offers a bit of everything at reasonable prices in an unbeatable atmosphere.
