City of Derry Airport

City of Derry Airport (Airport code: LDY) is located 7 miles north-east of Derry City on the main A2 linking the North West of Ireland with several UK & Continental destinations. A link with Dublin Airport (subsidised by the Irish Government) operated for a number of years until July 2011.

The airport underwent a £19million runway upgrade in 2008, enabling the announcement of its first continental route by Ryanair which commenced in June 2009 to Alicante in Spain.

In 2012 the range of routes had expanded to include the following::

 

Airline Destinations
Ryanair Birmingham, Glasgow-Prestwick, Liverpool, London-Stansted
Seasonal: Alicante, Faro, Tenerife-South
Thomson Airways Seasonal charter: Palma de Mallorca

Commencing in May 2013, Thomson will also operate a seasonal charter to Lanzarote
